Wishing Wellness

We offer both individual, family and group therapy for children, adolescents and their families. With appropriate referrals Medicare rebates, private health insurance rebates and NDIS funding can be used for these sessions. We use a variety of therapies including CBT, Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness, Meditation, ACT, play and art therapy. We work within a multidisciplinary team, taking a holistic approach to wellness for both children and their families.

We offer hypnotherapy for medical (particularly gastrointestinal), and emotional (e.g. anxiety) related issues.  Our psychologists are trained hypnotherapists.  With an eligible referral Medicare rebates can be claimed for consultations.

We offer therapy for the whole family and as well as family sessions.  Our psychologists are trained family therapists.

We offer parenting workshops for couples raising children together as well as single and blended families.  We run a specific parenting workshop for fathers.

We run social skills, emotion regulation and parenting support groups. ‘Rainbow Tribe’ is our ever-popular yoga & Mindfulness-based social skills and emotion-regulation group for primary school-aged children.  ‘All Teenage Matters’ (A.T.M.)is the adolescent skills group.  Both groups run on the weekends during the school term and occasionally as an intensive holiday program.

Minecraft Social Skills Group is for 7-10 years of age.

We offer speech pathology and speech/language assessments for children of all ages.  We also conduct pragmatic language assessments as part of our autism assessment package.

We offer OT for children of all ages and fine/gross motor skills assessments when required.  We also offer programs to assist children with sensory integration.

We have an onsite ABA therapist who works with children of all ages.

We practise Mindfulness with children in session and in our groups.

We teach children to meditate as a daily practise.  We teach children the importance of meditating regularly and the science behind it.  We help children experience the benefits of meditating in their busy, fast-paced world.

We offer naturopathic consultations, natural medicine.

We have trained nutritionists and dieticians onsite to assist children with a variety of issues such as disordered eating, fussy eatering, sensory aversions, as well provide advice and management of a variety of medical/gastrointestinal issues and educate as well as provide general healthy eating plans.

Alchemy is the process of taking something ordinary and turning it into something extraordinary, sometimes in a way that cannot be explained. This is a core principal of Wishing Wellness.

Wishing Wellness is a sensory hub and aromatherapy is woven into every room and therapy. We use Doterra oils which can also be purchased at the clinic.

Our kinesiologists work with both children and their families to restore balance and emotional wellbeing. Parents can also have a treatment whilst their child is seeing their practioner!

Our practitioners assess children’s speech and language development, gross/fine motor skills, social & emotional development, cognitive abilities, school-readiness, and  conduct a number of clinical assessments & diagnoses for disorders such as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), anxiety and depression.
